soooo lamorak is from a gold court noble family of particular power - not sure if they'd have met unless reyson was quite young when they did (lamorak being 10 years older), but! after lamorak's mother got Taken due to political gold court reasons and lamorak left the house not long after, as a mirror to canon somewhat, i do think his father might've fallen into a vamp-worshipping cult. in canon, his contact with malevolent entities led to him doing Bad Things in neighboring countries, so it's very possible that a vamp (i'm down to workshopping an identity with whatever works best for you if you'd like!) handed off an order to lamorak's dad, and his dad is the one who carried out the actual machinations underlying the rumors and mob that did reyson's family in.

though lamorak wasn't there for this, he did come back home briefly at one point and found his father's records of mucking around in other countries under a vampire's orders, probably, so he may be able to connect A to B if he learns more about reyson. uh, oops! sorry dude, that sucks!
