UNDYING COURT - EMP/AU WORKSHOP

Welcome to the Undying Court's first enable me please and AU workshop!

The Undying Court is a semi-private, invite only game. In addition to those directly invited by the mods, players on the TDM will be able to request an invite from the mods. This enable me please and AU workshop is open to everyone!

The TDM will be posted on December 1, 2023. Reserves will follow on December 9, with applications from December 11 through December 15. Reservations are not required by give that person priority for a character. A TDM sample is required to app.

The Undying Court is a memloss au game, so we want to give players the opportunity to talk and create pre-existing bonds prior to the TDM and game's start. Feel free to try out whatever ideas or characters you'd like here, and comment around to see how things might fit with other characters!

AU Information: Satoru's vampire life will parallel his original life; a fact which will irritate the shit out of him if he ever regains his memories lmao

He was taken in at a very young age and made an apprentice to a highly powerful Gold Council Member, and his position was so highly envied that he survived numerous assassination attempts before he was ever made a vampire. Despite the immense privilege he was granted by his maker's choice, Satoru held little respect for him, perceiving the Council to be corrupt old cronies. As a young vampire, Satoru threw himself into learning every vampire power that he could, and power came very easily to him -- frighteningly so, some might say.

As a teacher, he's one of the most unorthodox teachers in the Castle, though he seems to get his students on a wavelength that others might struggle with. He's irreverent, and arrogant, and chaotic, and his classes are more likely to be about Being Really Cool and Developing A Mysterious Aura than they are about set topics. Deep down, Satoru is a kind and fiercely protective person, but one has to wade through a lot of bullshit to get there.

His ultimate aim is to overthrow the Council (because his ACAB mindset is so strong it bled into his vampire life), separate the Gold court from their systemic enthralling of humans, and install more modern-minded people at the top. Will he succeed at this? It depends on if he's too busy watching the local comedy show or amusing himself by messing with his students.

Desired AU (past) CR: Satoru would have been an unholy terror as a novice/apprentice in his teen years, and it'd be fun for him to be friends with other teachers who knew him from that stage! As a young child, he was cold and detached, and having people that knew him from back then would be interesting, too. He also has a few spots open for his favourite students, and has a big soft spot for himbos and emos that have the same ideals as him.
Desired Future CR: Honestly, anything! Wanna help him scheme to overthrow the Council? Want to be his mortal enemy because of that?
Maker/Novice Bonds: For his maker, that would be an NPC, a Gold Council Member who's likely retired recently (to avoid me having any sway over what the current NPCs are like lmao). For novice bonds, see up above!

Honestly, Satoru would greatly enjoy Lydia as a person, she's bold and dramatic and he vibes with that so much, he's either side by side with her causing chaos, or just winding her up and sitting back with a bowl of popcorn watching her antics

Hating the Gold Court is easy to do but Satoru's going to be that one Cool Guy From Gold That Everybody (maybe reluctantly) Likes Despite Their Hatred Of Gold lmao

Satoru is very well equipped to deal with brattiness, in that it doesn't phase him in the slightest, because he's also a brat but has managed to channel it into getting stronk(tm). He'd be delighted to influence the youths into agreeing with his plans!

I endorse Satoru's One Cool Gold Guy status for at least Jean. Also considering Jean is going to take to the black court fighting classes like water, that could also be something Satoru notices. overthrowing the council needs fighters after all

I feel like Satoru will be delighted by any of the Black Court teachers because he thinks their emo grunge goth aesthetic is adorable, and he loves being charmingly annoying to try to get them to be less gloomy -- so he will in fact find Estinien to be hilarious, and would happily try to get him to lighten up and socialize more lmao

(He will also find a way to be in the same room when Estinien is telling a student they're being bad at something just so he can clap and provide commentary)

god him being in Gold house is perfect Xenk would HATE him and I love that. There's gotta be some good teachers in Gold to balance out the guys who think enthralling is cool (like Xenk.)

Xenk is definitely going to be Pro-Council and all the bad stuff so if he needs to put a face to his hatred and annoyances, Xenk's your guy. Laws matter!! Governance is good!! For extra fun he could have been his teacher at some point too. The amount of times Xenk would have wanted to fail him... only for him to have done well in class... tragic, really.

I'm probably putting Satoru at just barely a mature vampire at 51 years (though there's nothing mature about him), so if that timeline fits with Xenk, having them be former teacher and student would be absolutely hysterical lmao. Satoru was that student who never studied and never paid attention but breezed through everything, much to everyone's annoyance

Satoru is more than happy to have fellow Council dislikers! His methods will be less 'violent overthrow' and more 'educate the youths about his ideals and then scheme to get the Council to retire early', so if Varian's onboard with that, high five!
