APRIL OOC INTRO
Welcome to The Undying Court! Please make yourself comfortable and introduce yourself and your new characters now that you've been accepted into the game. Say hello to your fellow novices and youngbloods and get to know your fellow players if you haven't met yet!
New characters (and old) will continue to enjoy the Spring Season, and our next event post is planned for April 20th, with a plotting post on the 16th. Additionally, we'll have our bond makr/CR meme up tomorrow!
In the meantime, characters are free to post to the comms as soon as they are added! This includes posting to the network or submitting regains.

About You:
Hello again, friends! I was here originally Maria Renard but decided to try someone else. I'm a thousand years old (today is my birthday!) and an eternal MSTie. I have a backlog of anime / books / drama / games / manga / webtoons that is amazing. Some of my favorites series (and this definitely isn't all of them) are The Ancient Magus' Bride, Mermaid Saga, The Mirror Visitor and Spice and Wolf.
I'm in an EST timezone and I tend to tag at various points throughout the day.

General Personality:
Sarah is likely known as one of the nicer Red Court youngbloods. She traveled with an troupe of actors and musicians before she turned so you might know her from that troupe! She came to school as a novice at twenty, turned fully at 21 and has now been a youngblood for eight years. She has a tendency to watch out for the novices and take various ones under her wing if she feels like they need an extra guiding hand. She's not been a Maker yet but she often offers to be for novices who come in without one. If you app in a Red Court novice and want a Maker who'll act like a loving older sister hit her up!
Sarah is also known for her love of acting and classic human literature, particularly fairy tales and mythology. She also loves poems and often quotes Shakespeare and that sort of thing for the fun of it! She's learning a few instruments here and there, better with the piano than anything else and she can sing halfway decently by her own standards.
AU Information:
When Sarah was 19 she wanted to go on to a very exclusive college to continue her career as an actress and perhaps a writer as well. She had been performing with a small group of actors and musicians during that time and was decently known in the local circuit for her ways with both the stage and in musical performances too. She was known for being the type that took young performers under her wing as well. Her hope was a degree under her belt from a prestigious school might boost her up into higher social circles and make her more sought after for higher paying work. As much as she loved her group doing well financially does help.
Unfortunately she was rejected and that was a massive blow to her spirit. It sent her spiraling into a depression that saw her leaving the group altogether. Unknown to her of course she had managed to draw the attention of an enigmatic vampire whose Red Court love of the arts often took him to little known venues. You could say he wined and dined Sarah but in the end she was ready for a change in her life and was more than willing to be wined and dined for the chance to leave.
Her only hangup might have been her half-brother Toby. Her mother had abandoned the family, Sarah's father had remarried and her stepmother disliked her intensely. The only reason Sarah stuck around was for Toby and in becoming a vampire leaving him behind was the hardest part of the process. However she was ready for the change of life and to find something new to accomplish.
She went through her novice days here and now is a Red Court youngblood, teaching other novices and mentoring those that catch her eye.
Plans & Desired CR
So most of Sarah's classes are likely going to be on acting, using acting to improve your seduction skills as well as poetry and maybe human literature. I'm still feeling out the exacts of all of this so feel free to make recommendations of the like!
During the AU Workshop it was brought up that with Kravitz gone no one is heading up the school choir. Sarah is going to step in to fill that role if no one else objects.
Desired CR:
* Students she can be a mentor to.
* Youngbloods that went through those novice years with her.
* Lovers past and present. She's a Red Court vampire and I fully intend on having her enjoy some of the hedonistic sides of that.
* Romance? Romance. Though that's for anyone over 21+.

About You: Ancient midwestern lady of the "soft goth" variety. Interests include things like books, writing, history, many arts (calligraphy, mixed-media) and crafts (knitting, crochet, embroidery, miniatures), music (mostly classical and classic alternative and some current alternative and art pop; also extremely into Bowie and Prince). Some fandoms are GoT/ASOIAF, Locked Tomb, possibly Rivers of London?, Elder Scrolls, Ace Attorney, Sandman. I love mystery shows, and also stuff like Muppets and Hello Kitty (but in a wholesome way!). I have a really erratic schedule due to chronic illness, but I live in EST and tend to be up pretty late.

General Personality:
In canon, Jon is a morally good, service-minded person with a kindly nature who overcomes a lot of stigma and self-doubt to eventually avenge the murder of his family, become a king, save the world -- and have it all fall apart when he learns that he's the hereditary heir to the titular throne and that people want to set him against the love of his life. He has a lot of humility and finds a lot of his self-worth in his willingness to die to help and protect other people.
Here? Well, he's about as morally good and similar to canon as a vampire can be. He manipulates people as little as possible; while he drinks enough from thralls to keep up his strength, he does not utilize them otherwise. He is also pretty dedicated to his work protecting other vampires. Over time, people who think about it will likely notice that he is kind of careless with his own life. He is also more ascetic than some: he doesn't have the same level of hangups about sex that canon Jon famously does, but he does seem to think his body should be used more for protecting and fighting than for having a good time.
AU Information:
Jon was 20 when he was taken in a Finding 20 years ago: he went willingly, thinking that it would spare some younger siblings. He had already had some weapons training as a teenager, with the idea of being some kind of guard or soldier or hunter. Because of this and because of his hard work, he excelled at nearly all of his classes as a novice: it seemed that he would join Gold, or possibly Red, but he surprised everyone and disappointed some by choosing Black. His Maker was an older Black Court vampire named George Mormont who had originally come from the same area as Jon, and knew Jon's human family a few generations back. Jon was extremely stoic about the blood change that sealed his allegiance to the Black Court.
Upon his arrival at the castle, a mischievous Blue Court vampire named Yvette had tried to terrify Jon, and he had reacted bravely enough to seem nearly indifferent -- which impressed her. Some time after he became a Youngblood, and after a lot of aggressive flirting on her part, they had an affair which lasted maybe a few years. Several years after it ran its course, she committed some kind of Vampire Crime. He was not involved in hunting and exterminating her, for obvious reasons, but Mormont was -- and was killed in the process. Yvette died as well. Since then, Jon has kept more to himself, sometimes worked away from the castle if the opportunity came up, and so on.
He is beginning to emerge from that period of aloofness (and beginning to feel a little less like tragedy is attached to him) and will be teaching classes this season.
As a side note, Jon was wrong about sparing his siblings. He has an NPC sibling who became a vampire after him. (I incorporated this because, knowing the landscape of potential castmates and what they're into, I think there's about a 50/50 chance that someone might be interested in apping Sansa at some point, and I didn't want to exclude her from his backstory. But for the time being, I'm keeping this vague, and I'd say that the connection is not widely known, and that the sibling is currently off doing something.)
Plans & Desired CR
Jon's teaching is mostly related to practical skills: combat/dread blade, tracking and hunting, basic shadowstepping. He doesn't feel comfortable teaching advanced shadowstepping or any mist walking at all; he thinks those should be taught by older and more experienced vampires due to the fact that they present inherent danger to the students. He's probably a pretty exacting but encouraging teacher! Anyway, he can teach any of these things that isn't stepping on the toes of a character who's already around.
Desired CR: Since he's new, friends, acquaintances, friendly rivals, protégées, etc. It's also IC for him to take a Black Court novice under his wing if the opportunity arises.

One of my favorite hobbies so far is collecting Black Court folks with Grandma, so hello hello, would Jon like A Grandma-
More seriously she seems to get along with most of the black court sorts she's interacted with and it's a charming theme that I would love to uphold- especially given the sort of person Jon himself is, really.
Anyway Cotton here is a wee old lady entering her second season- and therefore probably one of the few who can honestly say she might be older than some of the staff, incredible.

General Personality: Like her canon counterpart, she's strong-willed but compassionate, the last of her family line as far as she's aware, and will absolutely do a murder when all reasonable alternatives fail.
AU Information: The last surviving daughter of a family brutally murdered by a band of rogue vampires. She's been a vampire for ~20 years and was formerly a thrall to a Gold court vampire family which she eventually married into upon her Becoming. Her husband/Maker was murdered and the ostensible perpetrators were caught and punished, though her own role in his death has been speculated about.
She totally did it, and he deserved it.She's particularly compassionate to the castle thralls and has a gift for enthrallment perhaps owing to her own time as one of them.Plans & Desired CR
Desired CR: Honestly anything at this point! She's not likely to openly make enemies, but I'm not opposed to conflict, particularly of the longterm slow-burn variety. She'll likely be kind to the students, though she can reveal a stern hand if pressed.
