AU History: Those that followed Blue Court lands (North) gossip for the past 20+ years would probably know Eden's backstory better than she does. She got sent off and picked up by a medicine woman in some redwoods forest, and raised to be like an apprentice until a Finding got her... Conveniently. As such, she was poorly socialized and thinks all the social norms of vampires is all there really is, which is very fortunately unfortunate and hilarious, as she keeps trying to catch up to that.
General Personality: I'd say 'imagine if Snow White and the Huntsman were mixed together' but we have a Snow White... So let Jax decide if that fits. Very sweet, genuine and eager, because no one really has to see the ruthless side of necessary violence that is somewhere in there. Believes everyone and if told to follow and fall into someone whole heartedly... Likely will. Otherwise she's very 'healer' and 'friend' that can be many shapes, and thinks all things intimate also fits with being friends. She's only maybe starting to learn that that isn't the case.

Pre-existing CR: Anyone that's been through the South and needed a healer could've come by the woods for the old Grandma that occasionally gets called a witch. Or, if you want old school and knowing her family, those from the North and Gold Court lands have a chance to know the Deconda family. Some people closer to Raphael may know that she takes... frequent private lessons there.
Desired CR: Can be a friend that comes in many forms. Also, I am very up for toxic relationships that she falls far too hard into, so don't be afraid of those.

Starting Court: Black
AU Age: 27 when turned, 30 years a Youngblood
AU History: From a fancy mixed-merchant family in the Gold lands, fighting pirates while shipping their goods overseas, before getting caught in a lotto. Then became Silver Court's best and worst friend, because he has an inability to perceive pain, which sure is an interesting combo in this school! Despite actually doing really well in Gold court, decided it wasn't his thing and in wanting to be more of a guardian and investigator type, yeeted himself to Black court early his second season. Never really looked back, and continued to visit the infirmary in-between missions because you never know what got stuck in his body without him realizing it.
General Personality: Shizuo's, like, the chillest of them all and probably one of the jockiest of the Black Court. AU Shizuo doesn't have the adrenaline rage issue his original self did, so he got to enjoy life, make friends and live some of his dreams. He'll be you gym coach this season- I mean... Tactical coach this season. Yes. It's all tactics, not sports.

Pre-existing CR: Youngbloods that've been around for the past 30 years will know him as someone who's often in and out for jobs. Black and Silver Courts definitely have stories, like the time he accidentally nicked himself with his own dread blade and didn't notice himself, or the time as a novice when someone definitely set him on fire to see how long it took to notice. The answer to that was 'pretty fast, because of the smoke and smell.' He's also definitely gone around with a dagger through his palm at one point when heading to the infirmary, just to pull it out in a cleaner place and minimize bleeding... But unsure if that's a novice or youngblood story for him. Could be both. A good occasional fling for when you want someone that's pretty nice and sweet (boring if you want to do inflict pain during sexy times, though.)
Desired CR: Past buddies on missions, flings, or people cleaning up his messes. Or, y'know, those that're sick of smelling his clove cigarettes. Also, while not exactly looking for more bonds (Shizuo's taking up a 3rd season novice that's changing courts), I won't say no to anyone that needs it, or wants a genuine Good Boy to bond with.

AU History: - Born and raised in the far north where winters suck and sheep were cool
- Weathered through the wolves and perils of the north until she retired to just knit and babysit
- Eventually grabbed a lotto feather at the best worst time, and ended up brought to the castle
- She's your Grandma now shut up-
General Personality: In a word- Nice. Cotton emulates the ideal 'caring granny' so much that people called (and still do, hi Snow) her 'Grandma' despite her never marrying or having kids. She loves baking and knitting, and has yet to be seen getting truly mad. Very excited to be here over all, as her entire outlook more or less is that if she was going to die anyway she may as well give undying a shot.

Desired CR: Ultimately a lot of the people I was building with actually dropped (or just never apped), so the name of the game is 'hello yes I would like CR'; Black Court folks who just find her neat are of course adored, and younger sorts who think calling someone Grandma in the Castle is grand are Also Adored. Desired Bond: Cotton's Maker has dropped! Which uh, means she's down a Maker. So ultimately the bar is in the sand- though it WOULD be funny if it looked more like she adopted her maker rather than the other way around, I will say.

AU History: - Local daughter to a merchant in Gold territory got scouted for possible vampirism
- Scouting went well so once she hit proper age, off she went! There might have been some relationship drama, don't worry about it.
- Either she got a pretty significant Maker outta that, or she's been foisted between Youngbloods ever since. Just In Case, it's fine, this is fine.
- Third Season here we come! She's doing great fellas.
General Personality: Composed, polite, relatively kind- and behind closed doors she might occasionally have a meltdown but don't worry about it, don't worry! Tends to try focusing on the first point of common sense in any situation, and recent events have started revealing an itch for mystery...fitting, as it was her skills in communication and connections that got her here. Also, she loves maps- really good at cartography.

Pre-existing CR: Classmates are a big one with Yasuho, as she's entering her third season now. For those who know her distantly, she's a very studious person who's been shying away from the practical courses for the most part- at least until now. Those who know her closely get to know the joys of how utterly over-emotional she can get when pressed.
Desired CR: It's an open baaaaaag! Admittedly when it comes to CR over all I tend to be very much like a dog presented with a buffet. I'll take it all baby.

AU Character Information
Starting Court: Red
AU Age: 21 when she was fully turned, has been a vampire for 8 years now.
AU History:
When Sarah was 19 she wanted to go on to a very exclusive college to continue her career as an actress and perhaps a writer as well. She had been performing with a small group of actors and musicians during that time and was decently known in the local circuit for her ways with both the stage and in musical performances too. She was known for being the type that took young performers under her wing as well. Her hope was a degree under her belt from a prestigious school might boost her up into higher social circles and make her more sought after for higher paying work. As much as she loved her group doing well financially does help.
Unfortunately she was rejected and that was a massive blow to her spirit. It sent her spiraling into a depression that saw her leaving the group altogether. Unknown to her of course she had managed to draw the attention of an enigmatic vampire whose Red Court love of the arts often took him to little known venues. You could say he wined and dined Sarah but in the end she was ready for a change in her life and was more than willing to be wined and dined for the chance to leave.
Her only hangup might have been her half-brother Toby. Her mother had abandoned the family, Sarah's father had remarried and her stepmother disliked her intensely. The only reason Sarah stuck around was for Toby and in becoming a vampire leaving him behind was the hardest part of the process. However she was ready for the change of life and to find something new to accomplish.
She went through her novice days here and now is a Red Court youngblood, teaching other novices and mentoring those that catch her eye.
General Personality:
Sarah is likely known as one of the nicer Red Court youngbloods. She traveled with an troupe of actors and musicians before she turned so you might know her from that troupe! She came to school as a novice at twenty, turned fully at 21 and has now been a youngblood for eight years. She has a tendency to watch out for the novices and take various ones under her wing if she feels like they need an extra guiding hand. She's not been a Maker yet but she often offers to be for novices who come in without one. If you app in a Red Court novice and want a Maker who'll act like a loving older sister hit her up!
Sarah is also known for her love of acting and classic human literature, particularly fairy tales and mythology. She also loves poems and often quotes Shakespeare and that sort of thing for the fun of it! She's learning a few instruments here and there, better with the piano than anything else and she can sing halfway decently by her own standards.

AU Character Information
Starting Court: Red
AU Age: 28 at turning, 12 years a vamp
AU History: Conrad was a Foundling, his main motivation to become a vampire was to avoid failing so he wouldn't end up as a thrall. His maker showed him no kindness, but he found solace in a mentor who believed in his artistic skill and urged him to become an educator. Now Conrad still clings to his humanity and he's not exactly a trademark Red Court vamp, so some think he doesn't belong where he is.
General Personality: It was pretty tough for Conrad to adapt to vampirism. He doesn't like having to look at people as food and all his anxieties and insecurities made it hard for him to get used to being a vampire. He can also be rather irritable, but despite having a temper and being prone to making grumpy and sarcastic remarks, he is a genuinely good person. He'll do what he can to aid someone in need. And he's an artsy type, of course. Fashionable, a bit of a hipster... That sort of guy.
Pre-existing & Desired CR
Pre-existing CR: Conrad's maker is no longer around, she's moved on and wants nothing more to do with him. His mentor was one of his art teachers and is now on sabbatical. Conrad had a blood claim with him and had a bit of a time getting over him leaving. And Conrad is probably known by other youngbloods as the Foundling who's not very good at being a Red Court vampire as he almost flunked out.
Desired CR: Conrad could use some like-minded individuals as friends. Or they can be more than friends, of course. He's the romantic type so he'd definitely pursue a love interest. But a fling is fine, too. Also, less than healthy CR is well and good. People he can have beefs with, frenemies or antagonistic colleagues, etc. are all welcome.
Desired Bond
Desired Bond: I'd love for Conrad to have at least one blood claim with someone. Preferably it'd involve romance, but it could also be a platonic friendship or more of a just physical type of relationship.
And I want him to take on a novice, even if he's not too keen on turning someone. It probably wouldn't be too hard to convince him to be a maker, really, if he's wanted for the job. Said novice would just have to be a good person, in general. He doesn't care if someone would make a good vampire or not because good vampires can be pretty bad people. Conrad would look out for any student who was in danger of failing, too, and would be likely to turn someone who's struggling.

AU History:
- The bastard son of a town mayor. Had some training in combat and hunting. Went willingly in a Finding when he was 20, happy that his younger half-siblings were spared.
- Excelled at court basics. It was thought he'd probably be in Gold or possibly Red, but he surprised everyone by choosing Black when it was offered by an older vampire from that court named George Mormont.
- Had a relatively brief affair with a Blue Court youngblood named Yvette a few years after he became a vampire. Some time after it ran its course, Black had to hunt her. Jon's maker, who had explicitly instructed Jon to stay out of it, was killed bringing Yvette down. She was also killed.
- Jon has been relatively aloof since then (grief!) and has taken whatever chances he can to be away from the castle, but he is starting to participate more again.
- If you're canon-familiar: yeah, Yvette was just Vampire Ygritte, the tragic dead ex-girlfriend. George Mormont was sort of a younger-seeming vampire version of Jeor Mormont, the Lord Commander of the Night's Watch when Jon joined it.
General Personality: In canon, Jon is a morally good, service-minded person with a kindly nature who overcomes a lot of stigma and self-doubt to eventually avenge the murder of his family, become a king, save the world -- and have it all fall apart when he learns that he's the hereditary heir to the titular throne and that people want to set him against the love of his life. He has a lot of humility, and he finds a lot of his self-worth in his willingness to die to help and protect other people.
Here? He's about as morally good and similar to canon as a vampire can be. He manipulates people as little as possible; while he drinks enough from thralls to keep up his strength, he does not utilize them otherwise (well, he probably doesn't object to them doing his laundry). He is also pretty dedicated to his work protecting other vampires. Over time, people who think about it will likely notice that he is kind of careless with his own life. He is also more ascetic than some: he doesn't have the same level of hangups about sex that canon Jon famously does, but he does seem to think his body should be used more for protecting and fighting than for having a good time.
For characters who have gotten to know him, he most likely seems sober, kind, and trustworthy, but to some, he might seem like a bit of a dour stick-in-the-mud.

Pre-existing CR: I think we talked about this on the AU workshop a bit: are we still going with those? (I'll assume so, but do we want to discuss it in more detail?) What about ones we didn't discuss? Definitely interested in hashing out Black Court stuff (how do our characters get along?)! Other stuff too: other 20 year youngbloods may have some history with him from back when they were novices, and he may have been an instructor for those a little younger than that. What happened? Let's figure it out!
Desired CR: Most things that aren't "dedicated life-ruiner" are fine! While I am not really looking for ships apart from Dany, flirtatious friendships are cool, as is some kind of past flirting history. Maybe your character had strong opinions about Jon's court choice or romance with Yvette back when they happened.

AU History:A lord’s servant from the Gold Court lands conscripted into Foundling-hood, Elias struggled to live up to his Gold Court Maker’s expectations (too swagless.) and eventually sought sponsorship from Silver Court instead.
Today, he's a Silver Court teacher, doing his best, getting mad at anyone who abuses the school thralls carelessly because do you know how troublesome it is to replace them!! 🦉 Ex-classmates: Elias was a novice 10 years ago, and switched from Gold to Silver Court. Because of this stressful situation he’d probably only have interacted significantly with coursemates from those two Courts, but an extrovert from Red/Blue/Black could still have adopted him! It’s just that if your character is also quiet, it’s likely they were simply classmates that gave each other their space lmao. But I'm happy with that assumed CR too.
🦉 Coworkers: Youngbloods who teach, feel free to assume that you know of Elias/have seen him around.
🦉 Know him secondhand through his Ex-Maker: Xenk Yendar is his previous Maker from Gold Court, while his current Maker is a Silver Court NPC not in the castle. Most youngbloods can have some kind of flawed interpretation of Elias’ switch since it’s somewhat unclear whether the breakup was amicable or not. It seems that Xenk and Elias are mending bridges these days, though.

General Personality: Lockwood is very outgoing and charismatic. While he is a social, gregarious person, it is also a carefully crafted defense to keep people at a safe distance. His smile is designed to distract, as well as to charm. Though he gives off the impression of being an open book, and often seems to actively court commentary from Lady Whisperfang, he is intensely private when it comes to his genuine emotions.

Getting into Kashire's bed. Spring is the first season where Lockwood is teaching all four levels:Lady Whisperfangs takes center stage!One of his favorite coursesLockwood also turned 51 vampire years this season. Rather than the party he was hoping for, his Maker voluntold him to take on a lot of the administrative paperwork that goes into keeping Courtsheart running smoothly! Lockwood is not best pleased.

Desired CR: I have really been enjoying the idea that though he looks so young, he actually has more than his fair share of youngbloods tucked up under his wing. More friends would be nice as well, characters who are aware of Lockwood's more ruthless machinations when he's out in the lands on government business.

Starting Court: Black
AU Age: Turned at human age 37. Has been a vampire for 43 years
AU History:
General Personality: Will's AU personality is pretty much in line with his Season One personality in canon. He is reserved, withdrawn and twitchy doing his utmost to keep his head down and his nose clean. He is not unlike a wounded animal who wants nothing more than to find a quiet hole in which to lick at his injuries.
He is carrying the weight of guilt and remorse for what he did during the years he and his Maker were playing their games; both together and against one another. This mostly expresses itself through his desire to steer young, starry eyed novices away from the Black Court and to keep people at a safe distance from Will himself.
When his monster comes more to the surface, AU Will is very much the man we see in Season Three of canon. He is confident, ruthless and vengeful. His empathy is weaponized, and he is a cold blooded killer towards anyone he believes deserving of his righteous violence. He can be charming, engaging and tends to carry himself with a great deal of gravitas; the wounded animal is replaced by a sophisticated predator.

Pre-existing CR: Most of the youngbloods in the castle either know Will or at least know of his history. He's still in the kicked puppy phase of his recovery from what happened with his Maker, and while he doesn't have close friends, he flits in and out of social situations as the mood takes him.
Desired CR: Friends! Let's start with genuine friendly connections and work our way from there.

AU History: Basically ended up leaving her mom after her little brother died and lived on her own as a street urchin later turned con artist/assassin/thief/later woman of the night. Did a lot of shenanigans and ended up conning the wrong
manvampire who snapped her up for amusement and because he thought she'd be funny.Something something ended up at the castle with Raphael as her maker and was a chaotic gremlin during her time and probably also made him regret his choices for a bit, oops.
Your local chaos goblin of Red Court that still finds it hilarious to push Novices into doing stupid things.
General Personality: Think feral cat that wants to be affectionate and be pet but then will bite you the second you try. Also the castle's resident sadomasochist that will do just about anything once and has ended up being a Problem for Silver Court a few times in just the past few seasons alone as she's just like this.
If ever you wanted a reason for your character to do something stupid, she'd gladly encourage it.

And totally and completely healthily shoving herself into her classes and the salon while ignoring everything else. Totally healthy. Duh.
Which reminds me, this season she's teaching her daggers class (second season), AERIAL ACROBATIIIIIICS with other acrobatic shit (third season), and seduction and subterfuge (fourth seasons) because no one should trust her to teach first seasons, ever.
Pre-existing CR: Totally down for people having known her as a total gremlin of a novice. Alternatively she's from Red lands so if anyone wants to have known her or ran into her back then when she was a human, by all means.

AU History: Goober from a rich/influential fruit orchard growers/merchants in the Gold lands. Basically was picked up as an abandoned orphan by the Higashikatas and he's known no different.
Was known as the, somehow, weirdest of the Higashikata family and that's hilariously notable. Got picked up as a Foundling and oops he's here now.
General Personality: Good natured doofus that is far too intelligent for his own good at the detriment of his common sense sometimes. He means well, he does, but sometimes he... doesn't quite get it. Also really likes most people and keeps ending up in relationships and it's hilarious to me.
He's also very ride-or-die for his friends/loves/family and will get into a scrap if needed. Also has the weird ability to measure things by eye and an encyclopedic knowledge of flora and fauna. I don't know.

AU Age: 39
AU History: A priest from fantasy!Italy that came to these lands to spread the word of God or whatever. Ended up finding out everything he knew about vampires was wrong and later on/recently remembered that he has encountered a vampire from these lands previously and that was Weird.
Basically he had a poor look on the vampires given what he'd seen some rogue ones do to a fellow priest of a small village and later during a Finding where he got yoinked instead of a child he hid away from them.
He's working on it now, though, and slowly realizing that this vampire thing might not be horrible for him.
General Personality: Think standoffish Catholic (with the numbers filed off) priest that is trying his best to be the Definition of what he should be while also grappling inwardly with himself.
Alternatively he's the stereotype of a sassy gay bitch that will judge you for every little thing with a side-eye or just a Look to where he doesn't have to say whatever someone just did was intensely stupid. He's also into art, mostly it was religious iconography, but he's been working on anatomy and people recently!!!

AU History: Harlock lost his family at a young age, so he and several other orphans/children of neglectful parents banded together to commit crimes to survive, then started to specifically target the rich merchants and tax collectors of the Gold court vampiress that ruled his homeland. Long story short, he eventually got caught and sent to the court - with the threat that his gang will be enthralled if he runs away or rebels.
General Personality: Harlock is the type of person who acts like he doesn't really care and he's only doing what he wants - but he has a pretty strong sense of justice deep down. He's currently a bit of a prickly cat as he hates the situation, but once someone gains his trust, he's extremely ride or die. Harlock also likes to enable gremlins and has a hotblooded/fight-happy streak.

Otherwise, Harlock is poking around at the murders, but he's not a detective so he may need help putting the pieces together. And he's going to do something really dumb and injure himself.
Pre-existing CR: Harlock was the leader of a bandit group, so fellow ex-bandits might be good, or perhaps someone who had the job of bringing criminals in to justice.
Desired CR: People who also don't like how the court is currently run to plot anarchy in the future, more rule-abiding types to butt heads with and tease (he does canonically like to goad military-types).

- From Silver Court lands, abandoned as a child and raised by human researchers (and vampire patrons) as a subject of neurological experiments.
- Killed some thrall girls as part of said experiments, later met their younger unthralled sister and grew very attached. His first ever found family!
- Attempted to kill the researchers but lost that fight badly, only killing one of them, getting the sister killed, and winding up severely injured himself. Whoops.
- Healed shittily by one of the vampire patrons (though he now has a permanent brain injury), who let him kill the researchers as part of the experiment before bringing him to the castle where said research is continuing. That vampire is also now his Maker.
General Personality: He's quiet and aloof, and despite being incredibly intelligent is very low key about it (you can't have an ego if you have no self-worth). At first glance he's very prickly but he does have a soft side buried deeeeeep down. Huge 'responsible older brother/dad energy' crammed into one skinny package. He's no stranger to violence, though since he's lacking his esper ability it isn't his first response to most things. He's observant, analytical and a hard worker, and when he encounters something new he'll want to understand it and will ask questions to make sure that happens.Pre-existing & Desired CR

Snow White was born to a noble human family in the Blue Court's lands. Her mother, tragically, died during childbirth after having Snow White. Her father raised Snow White to the best of his ability with the best teachers money could buy, but he realized he couldn't provide what his daughter needed and he was also a man with his own needs. Enter the beautiful Lady Grimhilde when Snow White was seven years old.
Before the ink on the marriage certificate was barely dry, Snow's father died from a sudden heart attack when Snow White was 8 years old.
Immediately, Grimhilde just used Snow White like a Thrall, worse than a Thrall in fact, abusing her in the manor and secluding her stepdaughter away from everyone and everything. The only thing she didn't do was feed from her stepdaughter, not wanting to eat from someone she thought was so lacking in "quality."
First, Grimhilde tried to give Snow White the chance to die an easy death, poisoning her with a poison comb.
Well, that didn't work.
The second time, Grimhilde gave Snow White a poisoned apple. That knocked out Snow White for several months and whispers in the Blue Court started to spread about how Grimhilde was treating Thralls and humans she came across, never mind her own stepdaughter. She thought she had won but while Snow White was certainly out for some time, it didn't kill her.
Well, Grimhilde was not having any more of it. If Snow White would not die peacefully, then she would die violently. One night, during a party Grimhilde was holding, the vampire made to tear out Snow White's heart with her own hands.
A Silver Court attendee had seen what Grimhilde was attempting and taking pity on Snow, Grimhilde was taken care of, and with Snow so close to death, a Blue Court attendee decided to give the poor girl a break. The Blue Court also conveniently didn't step in to stop such an unfortunate death of a Gold Court member.
General Personality:
Snow White is almost exactly the same as her OU counterpart. She's still desperate for companionship, making friends, and desperate to be loved. Slightly different though, is her need to prove herself. OU Snow White is much more assured of herself despite everything that happened to her. However, AU Snow White was only able to stay alive because she was useful to her stepmother, and even now, she's trying to prove she can be "of use" except to the Courts instead of to her stepmother.
Having had literally no friends, not even animals, Snow is a bit more socially awkward, but still open and honest, and friendly. She is a bigger bookworm than her OU counterpart since she was never allowed out of the manor and books were her only way to experience kindness or the world as a whole. She is actively trying to befriend... everyone, and I do mean that seriously. Still, she's a bit more in need of direct confirmations such as being told "yes, we're friends." Actions and words have both been harsh her entire life so she can't quite read "actions speaking louder than words."
She still absolutely believes in seeing the good in people. Just because HER stepmother has a black hole where her heart should be doesn't mean others do. Clearly, since she was saved by the Blue and Silver Court.

Pre-existing CR: Snow was in forced seclusion, but characters are welcome to know Grimhilde or have lived on Snow White's lands. Or have heard horror stories about Grimhilde, all of that is fine.
Desired CR: Friends, parental figures, maybe even love interests? Snow is a very lonely, lonely girl and is not so secretly desperate to be praised by a parental figure. But all CR is good CR. Negative CR is okay, too! If someone wants her as a rival or just want to hate her, she's used to that, too.

AU History: Cal was raised by a coven of Vampires, they were killed by hunters and he somehow survived the attack. He fled into a neighboring city where he lived on the streets, scrounging and stealing until he was caught and forced into servitude for some cruel people. He was often forced to work long hours for them with little food or rest and the threat of being enthralled if he misbehaved held over his head.
General Personality: Cal, is similar to his canon self - he is friendly and caring with a streak of recklessness and ambition to prove himself. He enjoys history! And plants! Perhaps the biggest changes are that he is a little bit quicker to anger and a tad more ambitious which can sometimes lead him into a little bit of trouble...

General Personality: Generally what you'd expect from a Gold Court vampire; can handle vampire politics with some finesse. Shows compassion for her students, though she can turn a bit frosty toward her fellow Youngbloods if she sees cruelty or a lust for power in them. Has more ambition than she lets on.

AU History: Just your average country doctor who became a vampire after hitting rock bottom and getting (justifiably) divorced by his wife. He's turned around his life now thanks to dying and being dead (and getting access to all the cool vampire medical tech.) Don't ask him too many questions about his wife and daughter or he'll start crying and start talking about his past as an alcoholic.
General Personality: Crotchety, grumpy, and all around sarcastic, Bones loves nothing more than being a smartass and complaining, whining, or griping and grumping whenever possible. Despite his loud complaints, he has a heart of gold under there and wants everyone to be okay. Sometimes he does experiments and sometimes he goes a little mad-scientist but that's just a vampire thing, it happens sometimes. He wouldn't be undead without an obsession, and Bones' obsession is figuring out how to cure and heal the world's problems.
